6: Thankful

Hmm...

Over these past couple weeks a lot has happened. I don't think I'm supposed to drive anymore. Why? Well, I've been in two accidents in the last two weeks. One was something that you'd see in a movie or as a joke...

Coming home at 6am after dropping dad off at the commuter lot for his vanpool, I doze off halfway up the hill not to far from the house. I am jolted awake as I hit the curb as I'm thinking to myself "I CAN'T BELIEVE I JUST DOZED WHILE DRIVING!!!". Anyway I hit the curb at such an angle that it blew three of my tires as they passed over it. Then I proceeded down the sidewalk in a long arch that I had no control over, thus hitting a fire hydrant completely off, no water does not come spewing out like in the cartoons and movies, the fire hydrant was knocked into a car parked on the street. I missed the next car, came back onto the road, angled back toward the curb again and hit the rear corner of a car with the same corner that I hit the fire hydrant. As if this isn't bad enough, that car bumped the pickup in front of it. I was fine and I was the only person involved in this 4 car and a fire hydrant accident. Our car was totaled.

...To my defense this is the first time I've ever had any incident at all while driving over the past six years. Then just over a week later I'm in our other car and the roads are wet, and I go around a corner and hit the breaks just right and end up skid back and forth. When the tires finally gain traction, I'm angled toward the side of the road and off I go into brush as tall as the car. Thankfully I was the only one involved and the damage was all on the minor, except for the airbags deploying, that'll cost a mint. The airbags never deployed when I totaled the other car. Hmm...

Anyway, my nerves are fried as far as accidents go. Thankfully I wasn't injured in either accident, I managed to avoid all trees which there were plenty of around.

Glad that's over hopefully I won't get into any more...

Classes are going well, except for the 1 1/2 hour commute.
You know I liked it when I had nothing to report in my earlier entries.
